Before / Now
HALL

Before we limited the living room as a space for receiving visitors, for entertaining friends, for socializing.
|
Now we don't know whether to call it just a living room or a gym, or a movie room or a game room or a reading place, or the best place for a nap.

KITCHEN

Before , for many, the kitchen was a place of passage, a beautiful but unexplored territory, more of hatred than love. |
Now, for many, it is a meeting point. Comfortable seats, good lighting and a plan to spend more time there: open a recipe book, connect to a chef's live broadcast... try, try, fail, learn, enjoy. And, well, also want to escape when the dirty dishes multiply. |
DINING ROOM

|
Before we visited the dining room at most twice a day: breakfast-lunch, lunch-dinner, breakfast-dinner. |
We now know that it can be something similar to a coworking space, a classroom, a meeting place, a restaurant... Now we value its multipurpose essence more: a place to eat, to meet, to chat. To visit more often. |
ROOM

|
We used to think that the bedroom was just an area for sleeping. Period. |
Now we see it in a different light: it is a space to study, to create, to plan, to dream, to have fun, to rest, to recharge our energy. Now we "demand" more from it: more comfort, more warmth, more details, more design, more experiences, more well-being. |
OFFICE

|
Before, as soon as the alarm clock rang, we dreamed of not getting out of bed and being able to work between the sheets. |
We now understand - and a little pain in the back or neck reminds us - that ergonomics was not "pure fiction", that a good workspace inspires, that comfort brings productivity and, often, good ideas. |
BALCONY

Before, the balcony was only home to “the little plants.” Perhaps it was the space we enjoyed on a Friday night or a Sunday, for an occasional barbecue. |
Now it is our “new exterior”, full of possibilities: it can be used as a gym –we run, ride a bike, jump rope–, as a yoga centre, a wet area, a solarium, a children’s playground, or as a home garden. Now we know that its square footage doesn’t matter, it’s all a matter of desire and imagination. To talk. To visit more often. |
