Danilo Cuadros
Medellin - Colombia, 1983.
Human existence, society, masses, accumulation extend across the territories founded by Danilo in his works, works that represent an exhaustive cartography, traits that permeate us as individuals part of a whole. His works function as a reflection and a surface that reflects.
Life is like river water and the main material of his works is water as a physical and conceptual element. His figures do not represent a human being in itself, but rather function as a metaphorical construct of the identity of what our body emulates, since as bodies we are only empty shells. And the emptiness is filled in the poetics of those non-places that the artist proposes.
"I am interested in the human capacity to generate crafts, habits, thoughts, fictions, ideas, solutions, emotions. Translating all this into objects of a reflective and aesthetic nature.
The magic contained in some materials, people, places and consequently sculpture as a technical resource and at the same time as a (container object), a device for ideas and realities taken from distant places of the human mind."
